IRS Notice & Letter Help

Understand Your Notice.
Know Your Next Step.

Get help reviewing an IRS letter, tax bill, or balance-due notice and organizing the information needed to respond.

Check your deadline first. Follow the date and instructions on your notice. Booking an appointment does not extend an IRS response, payment, appeal, or court deadline. If a deadline is close, call us promptly to discuss availability.

How We Can Help

01 · Understand

Review the Notice

Identify the notice number, tax year, stated balance or adjustment, and what the IRS is asking you to do.

02 · Organize

Compare Your Records

Review the relevant return and supporting documents to identify questions, missing information, or possible discrepancies.

03 · Plan

Discuss Next Steps

Discuss possible responses, corrections, or payment options. We confirm the service scope and fees before proceeding.

Before Your Review

What to have ready
  • Every page of the notice, including attachments, and the envelope if available.
  • The related federal return, schedules, and any amended return.
  • Relevant W-2s, 1099s, payment confirmations, receipts, and earlier correspondence.
  • The notice number, tax year, and response deadline.

Arrange secure document delivery directly with your preparer. Do not send Social Security numbers, banking details, or notice images through general email or inquiry forms. This website does not currently provide a document-upload portal.

If you agree, disagree, or cannot pay

The appropriate action depends on your notice. Some notices require no reply; others require a response or payment. We can help you understand the instructions, organize supporting information, and review available payment-plan information. Do not assume that a notice is incorrect or that a balance can be reduced.

Review assistance and IRS representation

Notice review and document organization do not automatically include contacting or representing you before the IRS. Any response assistance or representation depends on the assigned professional’s qualifications, permitted practice rights, required authorization, and an agreed engagement. We will explain when a CPA, enrolled agent, or tax attorney is needed. Availability of outside referrals is not guaranteed.

How to book

Use “Schedule an IRS Notice Review,” choose a preparer under “Other,” and mention “IRS notice review,” the notice number, tax year, and deadline in the appointment notes. Keep taxpayer identification numbers and financial details out of the notes. An initial review does not guarantee resolution, penalty relief, or acceptance of a response.

Guidance reviewed October 24, 2026. Your specific notice and applicable law control the required action and deadline.
