These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of GOTAXTOOLS® services, website features, appointments, support channels, tax preparation services, software-access arrangements, training, onboarding, bank-product coordination, and other services we may offer.
1. Agreement to These Terms
By purchasing, requesting, accessing, scheduling, or using a GOTAXTOOLS service, you agree to these Terms and to any written order, enrollment, service description, provider requirement, or consent that applies to the specific service you choose.
2. GOTAXTOOLS Services
GOTAXTOOLS supports tax professionals and other eligible clients through software access, sales assistance, onboarding, training, customer support, workflow guidance, document-related services, tax preparation services, appointment-based assistance, and other tax-practice services.
GOTAXTOOLS may also provide service-bureau or reseller arrangements to qualifying tax firms. Those arrangements may include additional requirements communicated by a GOTAXTOOLS sales representative or in a separate order, enrollment, or service agreement.
3. Third-Party Products and Services
Some products, systems, financial services, communications tools, filing systems, or other technology used with GOTAXTOOLS services may be provided, licensed, hosted, processed, or controlled by independent third parties. Their own terms, eligibility rules, availability, system requirements, and operating procedures may apply.
GOTAXTOOLS does not claim ownership of third-party software, trademarks, technology, or services and does not transfer ownership of third-party intellectual property to customers.
4. Tax Preparation Services
When GOTAXTOOLS provides tax preparation services, clients are responsible for supplying complete and accurate information, reviewing the return and supporting information, responding to reasonable requests for documentation, and signing any required forms or authorizations before filing.
Tax outcomes depend on the facts provided, applicable law, government processing, and other circumstances. GOTAXTOOLS may request additional information when needed to complete or review a return.
5. Accounts, Credentials, and Authorized Users
You are responsible for providing accurate account and contact information, protecting usernames, passwords, authentication methods, and other credentials, and limiting account access to authorized users. Notify GOTAXTOOLS promptly if you believe an account or credential has been compromised.
6. Fees and Payment
Fees are based on the applicable quote, order, invoice, enrollment, or purchase record. Prices may differ by service, tax year, configuration, add-on, filing need, user count, provider requirement, or other selected feature. Amounts are payable according to the applicable order or invoice.
GOTAXTOOLS may suspend or delay access to a paid service when an amount is overdue, a payment fails, or a required payment arrangement has not been completed.
7. Bank Products and Financial-Service Providers
GOTAXTOOLS may help eligible tax professionals or clients access or enroll in bank products offered by independent providers. Approval, eligibility, fees, underwriting, funding, refund timing, and other financial terms are determined by the applicable provider. GOTAXTOOLS does not make underwriting decisions or guarantee approval, funding dates, or refund timing.
8. Professional and Customer Responsibilities
Tax professionals remain responsible for their professional work, legal and regulatory compliance, required credentials, taxpayer consents, recordkeeping, data protection, return review, and filing decisions. Clients using tax preparation services are responsible for providing truthful, complete, and timely information.
9. Documents, Sensitive Information, and Security
When you upload, send, store, or provide documents or sensitive information, you represent that you are authorized to provide that information and that its use is lawful. You are responsible for selecting the correct client, taxpayer, recipient, account, or destination when transmitting documents.
GOTAXTOOLS uses safeguards designed to protect information, but users must also maintain reasonable security for their own devices, networks, credentials, and local systems.
10. Automated and AI-Assisted Features
Some workflows may use automation, optical recognition, data extraction, suggestions, or AI-assisted features. Automated output can be incomplete or inaccurate and must be reviewed by the responsible user before it is relied on, transmitted, signed, or filed.
11. Support, Training, and Onboarding
Support, training, onboarding, and workflow assistance may vary by service, plan, season, availability, and issue type. These services are intended to help users operate effectively and do not replace the user’s responsibility for professional judgment, legal compliance, device management, local networks, or third-party accounts.
12. Electronic Filing and Government Systems
Electronic filing and tax processing depend on government agencies, external systems, networks, and other services outside GOTAXTOOLS control. Acceptance, rejection, processing time, acknowledgments, and refund timing are determined by the applicable agency or responsible third party.
13. SMS, Email, and Other Communications
GOTAXTOOLS may contact you about appointments, account setup, purchases, service requests, support, security, tax-season operations, or other communications related to your relationship with us. SMS communications are also governed by the GOTAXTOOLS SMS Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy.
14. GOTAXTOOLS® Trademark and Original Materials
GOTAXTOOLS® is a registered trademark. The GOTAXTOOLS name, logo, brand identity, original website copy, graphics, designs, marketing materials, training materials, documents, and other original content are owned by GOTAXTOOLS or used with permission and are protected by applicable trademark, copyright, and other intellectual-property laws.
You may not copy, reproduce, publish, distribute, modify, display, create confusingly similar branding from, or use GOTAXTOOLS brand assets or original materials without prior written permission from GOTAXTOOLS, except where use is permitted by applicable law. You may not use GOTAXTOOLS branding in a way that falsely suggests sponsorship, affiliation, endorsement, or authorization.
15. Acceptable Use
You may not use GOTAXTOOLS services to commit fraud, facilitate identity theft, access information without authorization, violate privacy or tax laws, share credentials with unauthorized users, circumvent licensing or security controls, introduce malicious code, interfere with systems, or misrepresent your relationship with GOTAXTOOLS.
16. Suspension or Termination
GOTAXTOOLS may suspend or terminate access to a service when reasonably necessary because of nonpayment, suspected fraud, security risk, unauthorized use, legal or regulatory requirements, provider requirements, or a material violation of these Terms.
17. Changes to Services or These Terms
Services, features, pricing, provider relationships, support methods, and business practices may change over time. GOTAXTOOLS may update these Terms to reflect those changes. The current version will be posted on the GOTAXTOOLS website with its effective date.
18. Iowa Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable federal law or another mandatory law controls.
19. General Terms
If a provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect to the extent permitted by law. A delay in enforcing a provision does not waive the right to enforce it later.
